Geocaching Gear

What do you need to go geocaching? Well that's a relative question but I will give you a few of the basic items and things that you will need for your geocaching adventures.

The first thing that you are going to need is access to the internet so you can get to www.geocaching.com If you are reading this, I would think that you have that one covered.

Next you will need a handheld GPS unit. This can either be a standard GPS or an app on your phone. The one for the iphone works great.

A pen or a pencil for logging your info on the logsheet in case the one provided is either broken or gone. (It DOES happen :0) )

Any swag items that you would want to trade(No food please. Only the ants like that)

Trackable items like Travel Bugs or Geocoins. These are real treats for the finder.

After those items are obtained, you can add any other items that you think you would need like a flashlight, walking stick, rope, first aid kit, bug spray, flare gun, first aid kit, tape (duck), water, beef jerky, trail mix, a knife(swiss army preferably), chain saw, first aid kit, dry socks, tuna fish, canteen and a backpack. Oh and did I mention a first aid kit? :0)

That's pretty much all that you need....... and remember to have FUN!!!!!
